Well, if you didn’t know what city Hyland Castle Town City is based on, I’m sure you know now.

For those still without any hope, it’s based on London. Hence “Big Ben” (get it? Get it?! *nudge nudge*) and the Hyland Eye (where do I get this stuff from?)

I tried something a little different with the backgrounds. Sort of a call back to how I originally did them. Let me know how you think it turned out.

“Wow look at that city! The artist must have spent a while drawing that. We should thank him for his efforts.”

That’s what I’m hoping people are thinking when they see this page! I’m also hoping people get what this page is. It’s a splash-page (one image taking up most of the page) signifying the start of the first chapter in Volume 1. The chapter, as you can see, is called Castle Town City, because that’s where they are at the moment.

Some of you can probably tell that I’ve taken a page out of Scott Pilgrim, by doing the chapter name that way, and having a nice little black information box in the corner. I thought it would be a quick way to let you know what the city is.

Anyway, I’ll let you all enjoy the majesty of this page. Enjoy.

P.S. Can you tell what city I blatantly traced a picture of? (The castle at the back isn’t in the actual city. Also, one building should make it fairly obvious)

It’s that time again!

Yep, we’re 3 pages into this volume and everybody’s favourite Rock makes another appearance. Not sure if any of you caught it, but he also appeared in pages 1 and 2 as well!

Anyway, I wanted to quickly clarify that in that bottom panel there, Mage is under a blanket and he’s using his bag as a pillow, just in case some of you thought it was some weird rat thing.

Man, wasn’t today’s comic awesome?

Anyway I tried something new this week in the form of hand-drawn backgrounds. Granted only 2 panels have backgrounds but I like it this way. Leave some comments if you agree, or disagree, or have no strong feelings one way or the other!

Well, here it is!

I really enjoyed drawing this page. I didn’t realise until I was almost finished, but this is the first time we see either of them sitting down. Oh, and I like this new style of drawing. Doesn’t look too different but defiantly better in my opinion. And my opinion is the only that matters!!!

Anyway, sorry this episode is going up late. I’ve been distracted by work all day. Won’t happen again… promise!
